LightOptics's SFP-32G-LW is an equivalent solution for overpriced original SFP28-32G-LW from IBM for 16G/32G Fibre Channel (16G/32G FC) applications, which primarily serve as a margin product for the manufacturer, filling the pockets of the company at your expense.
It supports links up to 10km over single-mode fiber. This 32GBASE-LW SFP28 module features a highly reliable 1310nm DFB transmitter and PIN photo-detector into a duplex LC optical connector. And it is a multi-rated 1310nm optical transceiver that supports 14.025/28.05G Fibre Channel specifications. It’s suitable for use with 32G SAN switches, routers, network interface cards (NICs), and other storage networking equipment.
The IBM compatible SFP-32G-LW from the LightOptics use only high-quality brand lasers (such as Avago or Lumentum) and high-quality ICs (such as Maxim Integrated or Netlogic) and therefore have the same quality or even a better quality as the original SFP28-32G-LW from IBM.
